You’re Not Lazy — You’re Emotionally Exhausted

A Night Out

Nobody can truly prepare you for how life changes after having a baby. You know it will be different, but the gap between expectations and reality can hit you hard.

The village where we live didn’t have electricity for nearly two days, so we had to go to Vidin and stay at my in-laws’. And that unexpectedly gave us something only parents of toddlers truly understand how rare it is — an evening out.

Yes — out and evening in the same sentence.
And yes — without the child.

We had dinner with our little boy, then put him to sleep and quietly ran out of the house.

Veni and I met Roni (my friend and piano teacher) and Ivan (her boyfriend) at 9 p.m. — amazing.

I was literally jumping in the park, feeling so free and happy.

The park along the Danube is incredibly romantic, and at night, with all the lights, it feels almost magical.

We went for a walk — Roni and I were ahead, talking about everything and nothing at the same time, while the boys followed behind, discussing something (probably less interesting, in my opinion).

Later, we went to a bar for a drink. I had a glass of wine (okay… the third for the evening), and we laughed so much.

It was a beautiful night — full of lightness, laughter, and good company.

I truly can’t wait to live in Vidin so moments like this can happen more often.
