You’re Not Lazy — You’re Emotionally Exhausted

Mototrip 2025 - Ninth day – Italy

The crew woke us up early and we had to quickly get ready and leave the cabin.

No slow morning this time.

We went straight for a cappuccino and a croissant.

I thought we would have more time, maybe two hours, but everything moved fast.

Within an hour, we were already getting on the bikes again.

The plan for the day was simple, but intense.

Cross Italy — from Civitavecchia to Bari.

Around seven hours on the road.

And it felt every bit of it.

At some point, I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

I kept falling asleep on the bike.

I knew it was dangerous.

But my body was just too tired.

We stopped a few times along the way.

Had lunch — a simple pasta with tomato sauce and basil.

Exactly what we needed.

Still, the exhaustion stayed.

By the time we reached Bari, both Veni and I felt completely drained.

I took a hot shower.

That helped.

Just enough to feel human again.

We had some food left from the previous day, so we made ourselves a small dinner.

Wine.
Simple food.
A bit of jazz.

It felt quiet.

Almost like a pause.

Later, we joined the others.

They had prepared a second dinner — Bulgarian style.

Three tables full of different food.

Shared.
Loud.
Warm.

A completely different kind of energy.

And somehow, it balanced the day.

The second night on the ferry felt easier.

I slept deeply.

The kind of sleep that comes after a long, heavy day.

Some days are not about beauty or excitement.

Some days are just about getting through.
