You’re Not Lazy — You’re Emotionally Exhausted

Mototrip 2025 - Tenth day – Sofia, Bulgaria

Young couple on a motorcycle traveling through mountain roads, with a soft emotional moment of returning home and reuniting with their child, capturing warmth, journey, and family connection

The last day of the trip was a bit sad for me, as I had already gotten used to being on the bike with such a hilarious group of people.

We got off the ferry, found a place in Durrës, Albania, to eat something and say our goodbyes. Veni and I were heading back to Bulgaria, while the others were going to spend one night in Greece before returning home.

After we parted ways, we continued through the stunning mountain views of Albania. The road was great, but what really caught my attention was something else — the contrast. You could see very rich and very poor people living right next to each other. One family in a huge, luxurious house, and right beside them — someone living almost in trash. I still can’t understand how such a difference can exist door to door.

From Albania, we continued to North Macedonia. There was some rain along the way, but nothing too serious. After the previous accident, Veni was very careful, which made me feel calmer. Everything went smoothly, and my biggest motivation was simply to get back to my son.

We crossed the border and arrived in Debar. We were starving, and the moment I saw those doner kebabs, I didn’t even think — I just went straight in. It was so delicious I can’t even describe it. After that, we stopped at a gas station, filled the bike, and grabbed a coffee.

A bit more rain, and then — Bulgaria.

At first, it felt strange hearing everyone speak Bulgarian again. I had gotten used to different languages and voices around me. And the temperature — from over 30°C down to 13°C — it was freezing. But the thought of seeing my son kept me warm.

The moment I opened the door, he was already there, waiting for me — shouting with happiness and jumping straight into my arms. After a moment, he ran to hug his father too. He was so excited that I almost cried.

Overall, it was an incredible experience.

And I would absolutely do it again.

If this reminded you how good it feels to just go somewhere and be:
