This Is Not for Everyone

I am not here seeking admiration or devotion. I am here to be — and to show others that this way of being is not scary. I write because it is my salvation from messy thoughts and overwhelming days. Writing puts my mind in order. It gives me space for self-love and for catching my breath. I cannot be here all the time. Actually, I probably could — but I do not want to. I do not want to pay the price of viral fame. I do not want to lose myself in the illusion of the world around me. I do not want to forget where it all started or lose the ground under my feet. Being able to disappear is a necessity for me. It allows me to rest, to recharge, and to stay focused and calm. I disappear from the noise. From expectations. From the pressure that tells you that if you do not constantly do more, you will lose track or fail. When I come back, I see the world more clearly. Without pink glasses. Without dark thoughts taking over. I feel grounded again. I can look at...

The House - garden

This house is amazing! I love everything about it!

It’s very old and used to have two separate owners—one for each floor. I’m so happy they both decided to sell, because this was an incredible opportunity that was worth every penny. A wealthy Jewish family originally built it, and there’s even a picture of it in a book about Vidin—how cool is that?! Over the years, the house changed hands several times, and now we are the lucky ones!

In this post, I want to tell you more about the garden, since that’s where we started our work. We’re planning to use the cleared ground to store materials, and we made an agreement with the owners of the first floor to remove most of the belongings they left behind. The garden was completely overgrown with weeds. It was a lot of hard work, but we managed to clear it all in just one weekend. Veni and I make a great team—we work really well together. I think we should start a construction company!

Of course, I didn’t take many "before" pictures, because I forgot. It was all covered in weeds. I also didn’t take enough "after" photos, again because I forgot. I get so caught up in the work, imagining what I’ll plant and create there, that I forget I even have a phone—which, by the way, I also really like.

As you can see from the photos, the garden is big. At first, with all the weeds, it didn’t seem that large, but now it feels huge! It definitely needs more trees, and there’s a specific one we’re planning to plant. I bet it will look beautiful, give us great shade, and help create amazing memories in that space.

This weekend, we’re going back to continue cleaning the house inside and out. I’m excited—even though last weekend left me completely exhausted, I enjoyed every second of it!

My little boy helps as much as he can. He says “trash” and starts sorting things into a pile to take to the bin. Such an adorable little helper!
